“ANIMA MUNDI”
Painting Exhibition by Momo Lima
🗓 September 2 – September 30, 2025

📍 Bushnell-Sage Library, 48 Main Street, Sheffield, MA 01257

🎉 Reception (vernissage): Friday, September 5, 5:00–7:00 PM

"Anima Mundi"—the soul of the world—is the invisible thread that runs through all life. In this body of work, Momo Lima explores the spiritual essence that connects nature, memory, and ancestral symbolism. Her paintings serve as intuitive maps of inner and collective landscapes, where abstraction and organic form merge into emotional and symbolic narratives.
With layered textures, vibrant colors, and sacred motifs, Lima invites us to reflect on transformation, belonging, and the timeless bond between the visible and the unseen.

Artist Statement – Momo Lima

My work maps unseen landscapes—spaces shaped by memory, nature, and ancestral symbols. Through an intuitive dialogue with materials, I explore the fluid territory between abstraction and figuration, where organic forms emerge as emotional and spiritual markers.
Rooted in meditation and a deep connection to the natural world, my practice is influenced by ancestral memory, dreams, and encounters with diverse cultures. I often incorporate symbolic elements—echoes of ancient rituals, botanical motifs, and sacred patterns—to create visual narratives that speak to transformation, impermanence, and the invisible threads connecting all living things.
Each piece is a quiet invocation, a layered reflection on belonging, inner worlds, and the cyclical rhythms of life. By blending mixed media, vibrant textures, and expressive forms, I aim to create artworks that invite introspection and offer space for contemplation and connection.

Momo Lima (Montserrat Francés Murias) is a Spanish artist and designer based in New York. Her work moves fluidly between abstraction, and visionary botany to create dreamlike visual narratives.

Deeply inspired by meditation, nature and travel, Momo´s practice explores the ancestral ties between past, present, future. The persistence of memory, and the fluidity of identity. Her paintings, performances, and mixed media installations reflect a sensorial dialogue between the visible and the unseen. Charged symbols, intuitive geometry, vibrant colors, and rich textures evoke inner landscapes where emotion, perception, and the sacred converge.

Guided by the motto: "Don´t control it -just guide it", her creative process embraces spontaneity, movement, and deep listening. Momo aims to create art as a bridge: between generations, cultures, and dimensions of consciousness.
